RECALL: Balls with Lead Paint
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Regent Products Corporation of Illinois today announced a voluntary recall of more than 7,000 Stuffed Fun Falls. The stuffed balls contain lead paint, which is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. There were no reported incidents or injuries prior to the recall. The Fun Ball is an orange stuffed ball toy, measuring 4 inches in diameter and designed to look like a basketball. The ball is printed with colored numbers, letters and “Reg. #PA-10623(HK).” They were sold at dollar stores and other discount stores nationwide from June 2006 through March, 2007 for $1. Consumers should take these balls away from young children immediately and return the toy to the store where purchased for a refund.
