Day-long Festival Celebrates Summer in New England

Boston, MA, (May 15, 2009) - Knowing that a challenging economy is forcing many to rethink their vacation plans, WROR 105.7 FM will host the first-ever See New England Festival on Saturday, June 6, 2009 on City Hall Plaza. This unique event will enable families to see all that New England has to offer in a fun, interactive setting perfect for the entire family.

From lobsters in Maine to the beaches of Cape Cod, See New England will feature exhibitors from local attractions, destinations, restaurants, theme parks, cruise lines, and much more. In addition to learning about everything New England has to offer, festival-goers will be able to book trips and purchase tickets to local attractions onsite at the Festival.

Featured exhibitors at the inaugural See New England Festival include Six Flags New England, Santa’s Village, Kimball Farms, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Attractions Group, Bay State Cruise Lines, Maine Beaches, Massachusetts Office of Tourism and Travel and much more.

“In a challenging economic environment, everyone may not be able to take that exotic vacation they had hoped for,” said Ken West, program director at WROR. “See New England will offer local families a chance to experience all the great vacation locations right in their own backyard.”

Adding to the festival experience, See New England will also feature family-friendly musical performances. Performers at this year’s festival include American pop girl group Girl Authority, Boston’s finest disco and funk cover band Booty Vortex, singer/songwriter and touring musician Johnny Ray and the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra performing A Night At the Rock Opera.

All attendees will have the opportunity to enter to win a host of prizes at the See New England Festival. In addition, WROR’s Flagship morning show Loren & Wally will broadcast live from the festival from 10 am – 12 noon.
