RECALL: TOYS R US Children's Decorating Sets Due To Lead Paint Violation

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with CKI Toys of Honk Kong, yesterday announced a voluntary recall about 15,000 Children’s Toy Decorating Sets sodl exclusively at Toys “R” Us. Surface paint on the back of the recalled mirror contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. There were no reported injuries or incidents. These Totally Me! – Funky Room Décor Sets are designed to make various room décor projects and includes a clock, clock movement, satin fabric, round box, door hanger, mirror, paper mirror frame, glitter glue, sticker sheet, foam shapes, sequins, seed beads, elastic cord, fabric flowers, and gem stones. The part containing lead is the mirror. They were sold at Toys “R” Us stores nationwide and toysrus.com from May 2007 through September 2007 for about $10 and manufactured in China.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled products away from children and return the item to the nearest Toys “R” Us store for store credit.
